Dolphins forward Felise Kaufusi is set to miss next weekend’s highly-anticipated Brisbane derby against the Broncos after copping a three-match ban from the NRL match review committee.
Kaufusi was put on report twice and sin-binned during Friday night’s 36-20 victory over Newcastle.
The former Storm forward was put on report for a high shot in the 63rd minute and sent to the sin bin five minutes later for a late hit on Newcastle halfback Jackson Hastings.
The NRL match review committee handed down a grade two dangerous contact charge, and three weeks for a third offence. He will cop a four-match ban if he challenges and loses.
Meanwhile, Sydney Roosters centre Joseph Manu is facing a match on the sidelines after he was hit with a grade two high tackle charge for his hit on Rabbitohs rival Isaiah Tass during Friday night’s clash in Sydney.
The hit sparked a melee between Manu and Rabbitohs forward Michael Chee Kam, resulting in both players being sin-binned during the second half of Sydney’s 20-18 victory.
Chee Kam – who was also sent to the sin bin – was fined $1,000 for his role in the melee.
